I would like to apologize to the members of this group for all the expired submissions recently. It seems like we all got busy around here at the same time.

To make things a little easier, the number of votes has been lowered to two. That should clear things up a bit.

But that doesn't mean that the rules and criteria have changed. For those of you who haven't been with us for a long time, there is a list of what *not* to submit on the front page. We haven't called attention to it in a while, so I thought I'd put some of it here for quick reference.

PLEASE DON'T SUBMIT:

- Body parts without faces - for example, buff arms, manly hands, or manly torsos. All images submitted must include enough of the face for us to determine whether it is masculine or not.

- Illustrations traced (all or in part) from photographs, or from other illustrations.

- Pictures on notebook paper, things you have colored by scribbling, or anything you put very little effort into.

- Vector traces.

- Portraits of real people.

:star:No photographs.:star:

- Anthro/furry: we do accept men who are marginally inhuman, but will not accept full anthro or 'furry' characters, or monsters. We judge a lot by the face of the character, so having a mostly human face is important.

- Images created in Poser, composed of 3D models not 100% created by you.

- NON-manly men. Being male does not mean the image will meet the group standard for 'manliness'. Having a super-muscular body does not necessarily mean that we will accept the image. Common reasons for rejecting otherwise 'manly' images are:
---- Young/boyish faces
---- Feminine faces
---- The actual character is masculine, but the style the image is drawn in is feminine (ask yourself: is my style masculine?)

- Just because he is manly to you doesn't mean he fits the standards we set in this group. For example: Lately we've had a bunch of people submitting Dreamworks animated characters. However, they've been primarily Hiccup and Jack Frost. While there is nothing wrong with these characters in and of themselves, this group would be geared more toward characters like Stoick and Santa. Wolverine is a better fit than Spiderman (in some circumstances).

Simply put, this is *not* the cute bishie boy group. There are tons of those out there. This is geared toward a different type of male character.

Submissions will also be rejected for being submitted to the wrong folder. To clarify:

Featured: The Best of the Best. This is for really high-quality artwork and exceptionally manly men.
- Please do not submit to this folder unless you are an admin. We will move work into this folder as we see fit.

The Sharpest Man: This is for manly men dressed in their best. Suits, Dress Uniforms, Elaborate Costumes, or Male Characters Whose Defining Visual Trait is their Clothing.

Superheroes and Bodybuilders:
-Professional wrestlers, boxers, or other sports figures with the appropriately beefy build
-Men who are 'fantasy huge', IE infeasibly large; if you are creating muscle fetish works, this is where they belong.
-Superheroes/Supervillains, regardless of build (so long as they remain manly)

Delinquents
-Men whose most notable visual traits are Punk/Goth/Hardcore/Rivethead/Metalhead/etc. traits
-This folder is NOT for men who have a bad attitude/are criminals, but do not fit the visual criteria. An attitude is not enough! Delinquents must also LOOK the part.

Not Quite Human
-Men who have nonhuman traits such as pointed/elongated ears, tails, horns, actual wings, unusual skin colors
-Men who are visibly part machine.
-This folder is not for 'furries' or anthro characters.

Nudes NSFW
All nude men (or men with exposed genitals) belong in this folder, in spite of what other categories they may also fall under.

Portraits
Men's faces/bust-shots, particularly when not enough of the figure can be seen to determine whether it falls under other categories.

TEMP. MISCELLANY
For when the character just *really* wouldn't fit anywhere else.

I apologize for the length of this journal. I *really* want to see fewer submissions rejected and expired regardless of the reason.
I hope this helps!

Can submissions have women in them provided they are with a Manly Man?
